DomainKey (DKIM) Records

Return to FAQ/Help System menu

Please visit Wikipedia for more information on what to place in your DomainKey record.

Once you know what information to place, you can add a TXT record to your zone with the DomainKey information. For example:

_domainkey IN TXT "k=rsa\; t=y\; p=MHwwDQYJMEwwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQADOwAwOAIxAJdzju2wPelTLQ"

Please note that the quotes (") are required.

Some DKIM records are very long. In this case, they need to be split into several lines. Here is an example:

google._domainkey 3600 IN TXT ( "v=DKIM1; k=rsa;"
"p=MIIBIjANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQEFAAOCAQ8AMIIBCgKCAQEAgHt71WkYDlRbH+dlt4vSGvFj0Hzs"
"9UvboLAfgTLnsjz0se8Fe/aX2UNtSEB15i35AkRkkAaqKPHqKcGLuhq"
"Ul/R1yWkxujFXWxhi8wooQvKAfYvlRSh6HWSEscAHCiG+7YA1z0ZxhY81zlHNWpgkQ1VntvZwDo9VCoW+Q1NjxaazVe+D16"
"YEYWmzuXZ1pwXO+zPakCuGo+ImXRufLjH5rUhZncy9liFMEP1or9q"
"V9Oc/KqXdRPfKi8zOtW7bY/JiPgulOn36PniwZ70A5nwzlE3LNWSn8RJc0QSPhz"
"t9oCpQI74qTKkNeMr9v/7ON7fl+Voq9TmxcwOtSDVyQjlM6wIDAQAB" )

Note that you can split the encoded strings in the middle of the strings.
