AFSDB - AFS Database Location
Return to FAQ/Help System menu
An AFSDB-record maps a domain name to an AFS (Andrew File System) database server.
The server name points to an A-record for the database server, and the sub-type indicates server type:
1 = AFS version 3.0 volume location server for the named AFS cell.
2 = DCE authenticated server.
You can use the AFSDB-record in the Raw form only on our servers.
The format in which to enter the data is as follows:
Raw form:
@ 86400 AFSDB 1 dbservername.com.
Where @ is the root zone name, 86400 is the TTL,
1 is the sub-type and dbservername.com is the servername.
